WHY THE BLUE
NOTE OF NOAM BONNAND

yes, why a blue note, et notred, green, yellow or purple ?

"The testimonies of participants in the Parisian evenings of the street Pigalle make the description of a lounge with lowered lights where Chopin, surrounded by his friends, played them the piano. Sat in front of the instrument, he improvised with light arpeggios until find the tone or the color (blue note) which looked like most, with atmosphere of the evening. This "blue note" was then the base of his improvisations, variations or still the choice of one of its works in the corresponding tone. Berlioz reports to us, no without nervousness, that at the end of this type of demonstration, Chopin had for mania to make slide quickly his hand on the piano from left to right "as to erase the dream which he had just created". This blue note of Chopin is a very poetic metaphor who explain well the work of the composer. its research on the soul and on the feelings. I think that all composers use improvisation to compose.

The blue note of a composer is in a way its flame, its soul, its moments of magic which burn in him to create the inspiration and put in every note, the emotion and the life.
