Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben ("Heart, mouth, action and life "), BWV 147, is a compound cantata of
Johann Sebastian Bach occasionally of the party(holiday) of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary in Leipzig,
on July 2nd, 1723, but it already existed in a slightly different version
In 1716. this piece is written for trumpet, two oboe, two violins, a viol, a bass continues and a
chorus (soprano, viola(alto), tenor and bass).it decomposes into ten movements.
First part
1. Chorus : Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben
2. Recitativo : Gebenedeiter Mund!
3. Aria : Schäme dich, o Seele nicht
4. Recitativo : Verstockung kann Gewaltige veblenden
5. Aria : Bereite dir, Jesu, noch itzo die Bahn
6. Chorus : Wohl mir, dab ich Jesum habe
Second part
7. Aria : Hilf, Jesu, hilf, dab ich auch dich bekenne
8. Recitativo : Der höchsten Allmacht Wunderhand
9. Aria : Ich will von Jesu Wundern singen 10. Chorus : Jesu bleibet meine Freude
The last movement constitutes the most famous piece, known in French under the name
"Jesus que ma joie demeure".
